Privacy Notice
Last updated 16 October 2026
This notice explains how PCNWin (pcnwin.com) handles personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The operator of pcnwin.com is the data controller.
What we collect
- Details you type into the form: your name, email, address if given, the PCN or parking-charge reference, vehicle registration, location, dates and your account of what happened.
- Payment details, which are handled by Stripe. We receive your email, name and payment status, never your full card number.
- Basic technical logs (for example IP address and browser type) that our host keeps for security.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To produce your free check and your paid letter: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep records of payments and refunds: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or make decisions about you that have legal effects using automated processing alone.
Who processes it
- Stripe: payments. Your order details are stored encrypted with the payment record so we can rebuild your PDF.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Our AI text provider: drafts the letter from your details. It processes them under its API terms only to produce your letter.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
We do not keep a database of your appeal details. The free check is not stored. For paid orders, an encrypted copy of your details is held with the Stripe payment record so you can re-download your letter. Payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires, normally six years.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, reply to your Stripe receipt email. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores your order token locally so your letter can be built after payment. That storage is strictly necessary.
